How do the closing procedures work?

The role of the custodian is to enforce the wishes of the deceased while being accompanied by the notary partner you choose. In order to validate the closing of an account, the custodian must provide the notary with an email or a screenshot proving that the wishes of the deceased have been respected and carried out.

How is Solal Tech informed of the death of the owner of the safe?

What data does the custodian have access to?

During your lifetime, no one has access to your data stored securely by Solal Tech. After your death, your guardian has access to all the data stored in order to fulfill your Digital Wishes.

In addition, only your notary partner and your guardian have the ability to access these Digital Wills when opening your estate.

Can we appoint one of our beneficiaries as guardian?

This is the simplest procedure since your beneficiaries are people you trust. You can therefore entrust them with the proper execution of the estate.

Do I have to declare the death of a loved one if I am one of their beneficiaries?

How to delete a beneficiary?

To remove the beneficiary of an asset:

- Go to the interface of the desired asset. Click on "My Beneficiaries" and then "Change Beneficiaries". This allows you to delete the current beneficiary and designate one or more new beneficiaries.

To remove a beneficiary from the Solal Tech platform:

- Go to the "My Beneficiaries" interface and click on the trash can next to the name of the beneficiary you wish to delete

What happens if one of my beneficiaries dies?

If one of your beneficiaries dies, you can:

- Appoint a new beneficiary to whom the property and assets originally intended for the deceased beneficiary will revert.

- Do not name a beneficiary for the asset(s) that were previously assigned to the deceased beneficiary.

What is the role of the recipient?

When you choose to transmit a digital asset and you designate a beneficiary, the latter receives an email detailing the functioning of the Solal Tech platform.

At the time of your death, each beneficiary will be contacted independently in order to undertake the succession procedures with the help of your Solal Tech partner notary and your guardian.

Do my beneficiaries have to be family members?

According to the principle of hereditary reserve (Article 912 of the Civil Code), it is impossible to disinherit your children or a married spouse. Therefore, they must receive a share of your inheritance.

However, you can freely dispose of the remaining part or available share, which depends on the number of heirs with right of first refusal. You can thus transmit this part by donation or by digital will to the person or persons of your choice.

Can I name multiple beneficiaries?

Why is it important to designate guardians?

How do you identify the ideal custodian?

Your janitor must possess 2 essential qualities to accompany you in this process:

- He or she must be a person you can trust.

- They must have the technical knowledge to access your digital accounts and carry out your wishes.

For example, if you own cryptocurrencies, choose a loved one who understands how wallets and crypto platforms work (like Ledger and Binance).

How do custodians know they have been appointed?

When a guard is designated by a user, he is directly notified by email. The user has of course the choice to accept or refuse this role. His answer will, in any case, be sent directly to the user via his Solal Tech account.

What should I do if one of my guardians declines the appointment? Or tells me that he or she no longer wishes to take on the role? Or if they pass away?

If your custodian is unwilling or unable to take on the role, you must find another trusted person who has the technical skills to carry out your wishes. You can enter their contact information in the 'Guardian' tab of your SOLAL personal space.

I agreed to be the executor of a loved one's will, but I've changed my mind. What do I do now?

The first thing to do is to notify the person who designated you. They will need someone else they can trust who is knowledgeable and competent enough to carry out their wishes. If you do not feel capable of taking on this role, your loved one will understand this and will be able to find a new executor.

How is the electronic signature secured?

To validate the electronic signature procedure, we use a French partner: Yousign. A specialist in digital signatures, Yousign encrypts data with a symmetrical AES encryption algorithm and a 256-bit key. In addition, data in transit is encrypted via the robust TLS protocol. Finally, the signing process uses double authentication. You must therefore enter a code received by phone to validate your identity when signing the document. Everything has been thought out to offer our customers maximum security.

Why is dual authentication important?

Double authentication is essential to secure your account. If your password is stolen or hacked, the person wishing to steal your data will not be able to do so, because they will not have the second means of authentication (email address, telephone number, etc.)

If I cancel my account, what happens to the information I have saved on Solal Tech?

In case of termination of the contractual relationship, for whatever reason: The Customer may (within 30 days of termination of the Contract) request from the Support department the export of its data in a commonly used office format.

This data export will be provided within 72 hours.

In the absence of a request from the Customer for the extraction of his data within the aforementioned period, Solal Tech will delete all of the Customer's data from the Platform.

This information is important. If an account uses dual authentication, we need to know this to ensure that your beneficiaries will have a way to log into your accounts using this type of authentication.

What is dual authentication?

Dual authentication is an effective way to improve the security of your Solal Tech account.

Each time you connect to the platform, you will receive a code on your email address after having entered your password. You will then have to enter this code to access your account.

For this reason, you must be the only person to have access to this second means of authentication.

What is the purpose of a restoration key?

To ensure the security of your digital assets, the recovery key encrypts the login and passwords of registered digital accounts. For this reason, if you wish to change your account password, it is essential that you have your recovery key.

If you lose this key, you can contact your custodian who will receive it by email if necessary.

Can I entrust my passwords to Solal Tech?

You can indeed entrust them to Solal Tech, and this, in complete security. Some of these passwords are essential for your guardians to execute your last wishes.

Two methods are available to you. You can import these passwords manually or use the secure password manager offered by Solal Tech. Whichever method you choose, we receive your encrypted passwords. Therefore, no one, not even Solaltech staff, can access them.

You may also choose not to give us your passwords. In this case, you must include the necessary information in your account to allow your heirs to access your digital assets. For example, you can add the statement "The Ledger key is located in the left drawer of the desk. "

What happens to my Solal Tech account after my death?

As with a traditional will execution, the execution of your digital wishes will be carried out within one calendar year, i.e. 12 months.

Beyond this period, we ensure with your notary partner Solal that your digital wishes have been executed by your guardians and that your beneficiaries have received your digital assets.

Once this verification is completed, we DEFINITELY delete your Solal account in agreement with your guardians, your beneficiaries and your Solal partner notary.

Is your platform secure?

Yes, we do! Solal Tech has no access to your digital data. When you register your data, we receive them encrypted. It is impossible for us to read them thanks to the encryption in place.

Only your notary partner and your guardian will be able to access your digital wishes and only at theopening of your estate.

How can I be sure that technically what is announced is what is respected?

Is there a different interface for notaries?

Two methods are possible: your customer can import his passwords manually, or use the secure password manager offered by Solal Tech.

In both cases, passwords are received in encrypted form. No one, including Solal Tech staff, has access to this information.

If your customers don't want to entrust us with their passwords, they can still specify in their account the information needed to give their heirs access to their digital assets. Do I need to have my digital will verified by a notary when I finally write it?

Do I have to go to a notary partner for the succession of my digital assets?

Can I report a digital asset that is not listed?

What if the different codes for my digital accounts change in the meantime?

We know that logins and passwords can change over time. That's why we offer you an extension for the Google Chrome browser. Thanks to it, you can save or update your passwords on the Solal Tech platform in one click.

To avoid losing access to your digital accounts, we recommend that you regularly update your passwords via this dedicated extension.

What is the purpose of a digital will?

The purpose of a digital will document is to organize the distribution of the user's assets in advance in order to prepare for his or her succession. It allows you to designate a guardian to enforce your wishes and allocate your assets to the beneficiaries you select.

What are the differences between Solal Tech and the digital safe platforms?

A digital safe provides access to your online account passwords. However, the person who has access to your accounts will not know whether to delete an account or leave it as is.

Solal Tech goes further. Our platform offers you the opportunity to define what should happen to each of your accounts (delete it, pass it on or leave it as is). Then, you can also choose to whom your accounts will be bequeathed (parents, brothers and sisters, children, etc.).

What is a holographic will?

It is a private document written by the testator. Unlike an authentic will drawn up before a notary, a holographic will must be written by hand in its entirety. It must not be typed on a computer, even partially. A photocopy or a printed document will therefore not be considered legally valid.

Does the notary partner have access to the amount of digital assets I own?

No, notaries do not have access to the amount of your digital assets, they only have access to the nature of your accounts and the platform listed. However, your SOLAL partner notary can contact you directly to provide you with their expertise.
